On May 15, XRX, the parent company responsible for Stitches events, announced they have closed their doors for good. As someone who was really hoping to go to Stitches West now that I’m on the West Coast, I can’t tell you how disappointed I am by this, however, the pandemic, closures, and subsequent economic troubles have hit all of us hard. This does mean that June’s Stitches Expo At Home is canceled, though I’m sure by now anyone registered has received an email about this. For teachers and vendors impacted by this closure, I know Knitty has some kind of special deal going on for advertising right now that might help recoup some of those losses. Be sure to check out their website for more info.
The Knitter’s Review is a website I was only recently made aware of, but lists events happening world wide by date, and the list is even more extensive than the one I’ve been using on Ravelry, so if you’re looking for an event to participate in, or are unable to use Ravelry, please make sure to check out that link in the description.
If you aren’t already subscribed to the website, the June edition of Knitty should be coming out soon; they generally don’t list a specific date, just “As close to the start of the month as possible” and they’re usually pretty good at sticking to that.
Vogue Knitting Live’s summer virtual event runs June 9-11. Registration is open now. Not free the weekend of the 9th? All Zoom classes and lectures will be available until June 25th on demand.
If you have news or events from the yarn world you’d like to share, drop me a line! Just put “Knit Tea” in the subject line.
