Knit Tea September 2022

September 16-18, 2022Cumberland Mountain Yarn retreat hosted by The Yarn Patch in Crossville, TN. There are a ton of planned activities and classes in every fiber discipline you can imagine, but also add ons like going to a yak ranch, boat rentals, and a wine tasting.

September 22-25, 2022DFW Fiber Fest in Irving, TX. The class list isn’t available at this time, but be sure to check their website for updates.

September 27-October 2, 2022Fiber Trails of the Upper Rio Grande. Explore the arts and culture of the American Southwest and the Navajo Nation, through tours and classes.

October 3-11, 2022–Attic 24 is hosting the Carcassone Crochet retreat in France. Stay in the heart of a medival city, tour the area and local museums, and take classes and workshops.

Oct 28-Nov 2, 2022–Oh So Pretty & Clever is hosting a 5 night crochet retreat in Tuscany, which sounds amazing. It will include tours of the area. Guys, I studied in Florence, so I know this area pretty well, and you are going to love it. Not sure what is on the docket, but I really hope some time gets spent in Prato & Pisa, as both of those are cities that made their names from textiles. But anyway, you can find out more about it at the link in the description.

There is an ongoing #knitOrange/#CrochetOrange thread in the Needlework News and Events board on Ravelry. Crafters are encouraged to use all shades of orange yarn, but especially hunter orange, to protest gun violence in the US and to wear or use their items at in-person protests or by posting them online. This is a tragic epidemic in our country and we have to do something about it. Right now, we need to vote and to make ourselves visible–show the world and our government that we disagree with the way things are being handled, so that changes can be made.

Please note, I’ve been seeing a TON of events in Germany/German speaking countries on Ravelry under the events tab. I don’t speak German, but if you do or will be traveling to the area, be sure to check out those links!

  1. Just noting that DFW Fiber Fest absolutely has their classes listed – schedule, teachers, and descriptions are all there. And this is my absolute favorite fiber festival to go to!! Since I can’t go this year (I’m too far away), I hope some of your readers can go instead! 🙂
