Guys, I studied in Florence, so I know this area pretty well, and you are going to love it. Not sure what is on the docket, but I really hope some time gets spent in Prato & Pisa, as both of those are cities that made their names from textiles. There is an ongoing #knitOrange/#CrochetOrange thread in the Needlework News and Events board on Ravelry. Crafters are encouraged to use all shades of orange yarn, but especially hunter orange, to protest gun violence in the US and to wear or use their items at in-person protests or by posting them online. This is a tragic epidemic in our country and we have to do something about it. Right now, we need to vote and to make ourselves visible–show the world and our government that we disagree with the way things are being handled, so that changes can be made.
Please note, I’ve been seeing a TON of events in Germany/German speaking countries on Ravelry under the events tab. I don’t speak German, but if you do or will be traveling to the area, be sure to check out those links!
