There hasn’t been much going on this week. We’re slowly putting the apartment together, one piece of furniture at a time. This week’s new additions included a table and chairs, which means I finally have a work space to write and sew that isn’t my bed (trust me, sewing in bed is a bad idea). I also got an iron this morning, so I’ll be able to start updating you on the massive, insane sewing project I started that might qualify me as being certifiable.
I’ve had to take a couple of days off from writing, in part because I apparently have no idea how to pace myself. My current project, as I’ mentioned, is a rewrite, and I mean that literally. One chapter at a time, I’m dumping words from my original draft into a new document and retyping them, smoothing out choppy prose, correcting tense issues and continuity problems, and generally taking raw word vomit and making it into something that can be read without giving someone a migraine out of sheer frustration. The raw draft is probably the choppiest rough draft I’ve written in a long time, hence needing to rebuild it word for work. I’m about 20k in so far, and my wrist decided that was enough. So I’m taking a couple of days away from knitting and writing to do a bit of sewing, since that uses a slightly different muscle group, and getting caught up on some reading.
How is your Nano going?

Ahhh Nano is still rather weird for me this time with the new site being what it is. But I am getting the words down, sometimes erratically, and should finish with a pile of something to edit into shape. This is the first time I’ve done Nano in two radically different parts of the country as well, and it will be interesting to see if the chapters are different according to location I’m writing in – coast or inland or train! Lots of train writing! Hope your wrist gets a good rest and is back in action soon
