Urban Fantasy Roll Call

It’s been three years, but with the Bind Off coming out this month I’ll finally be wrapping up my very first series once and for all.

If you’ve been reading my books or following my blog for any amount of time, then you know that I have interest in a lot of genres. In fact, this blog really focuses on history and mental health, which have been the main backdrops for the pieces I’ve been working on the past few years (you know, in my copious “free time.” Don’t worry, you’ll see those books eventually).

But what about urban fantasy? It’s been a long time since I’ve talked about that here. So here’s a short list of some of my favorite authors and their books in the genre. If you need more urban fantasy once Evie’s wrapped up, you can check out the books below for more.

  1. Tanya Huff–The Blood Books
  2. C.E. Murphy–Urban Shaman and The Old Races
  3. Chloe Neil–The Chicagoland Vampires
  4. Carrie Vaugn–the Kitty Norville series
  5. Karen Chance–The Cassie Palmer series and the Dorina Basarab series
  6. Rob Thurman–The Cal Leandros series
  7. Jim Butcher–The Dresden Files

These are some of the classics of the genre, so if you’re just getting started on urban fantasy, this is a good place to start.

I admit, I haven’t done as much reading in the past few years as I would like, and I’ve been prioritizing research books over entertainment books, so I’ma little behind on what’s current in this genre.

If you’re a fan of urban fantasy, what are your favorite books?
