New Release: OFF THE RAILS

It’s here! At long last.

I am absolutely in love with this cover, which was once again designed by Ash K. Alexander, who has done all of my previous covers.

This will be the first book in an adult historical fiction/mystery series, and can be found on Amazon here, in both ebook and paperback.

This book marks a turning point for me. Not only is it the introduction of a new pen name and a new line of books, but there will also be some changes here on the blog. I’m hoping to roll out a new website in 2019, to showcase both sides of Knotmagick–the lighter, fun side found in the Sophia Beaumont books, and the darker, creepier imaginings of Sìne Peril.

Also starting in 2019, I’ll be changing my production schedule. Since 2016 I’ve been producing about three books a year, and with one exception all of those have been self-published, which means I’ve had to either do or closely oversee every step myself, from the drafting to the editing, to formatting, arranging for cover art, promotion, etc.

It’s not that I don’t enjoy that work–I love it, actually–but the breakneck pace three books a year has required has become too much for me, especially as I start working on more adult books with higher word counts. I haven’t been able to put nearly the time and energy into promoting each book as I would like. You may have noticed how little I talked about OFF THE RAILS prior to publication. I simply didn’t have the time or resources for it, not with everything else that needed to happen. I was more focused on trying to get a high quality, finished book, than making sure everyone heard about it right out of the gate. And in the mean time, the blog suffered, my pattern work suffered or didn’t get done at all, research for future projects got delayed indefinitely, and other creative pursuits were put off or abandoned.

So, in 2019 I will be stepping back a little. There will be two books released, one in March or April, and one in October. You’ll hear more about those in the new year.

I do still have some surprises in store, and if you want to be the first to hear about them, make sure you sign up for the mailing list over in the side bar.

In the mean time, I hope this tides you over for the next few months. 2017 and 2018 have seen a lot of growth and change in my writing and in my books, and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store.
