September Wrap Up

It’s that time again!

  1. Send out at least 1 query every week
Haven’t done this yet, but doing it right now.
  2. Release The Spider’s Web on Amazon
  3. Reduce the yarn stash by 50%
Hahahaa! Nope. The thumb I injured a couple of years ago has been acting up, so knitting has been minimal this month.
  4. Save for the moving
  5. Read all the books on the night stand
I finished 1 book this month, making 3 for the year. I’m very slow at reading sometimes.
  6. Read at least 20% diverse books
I think I’m failing at this.

The Books:

How to Market a Book by Joanna Penn
The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe
Fairy Debt by Gail Carriger
Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill
The Meaning of Everything by Simon Winchester
Ghostland Colin Dickey

Okay, so technically 2 of those are short stories and don’t really count.

Just go with it. It’s fine.

It’s been a very light reading month. I hit another reading slump–I actually had to check out an audiobook twice, and that NEVER happens. I think a lot of it has to do with all of the editing I did in September. My brain really wanted to be in creation mode, not editing mode, and after reading my own work for 2-3 hours a day, I didn’t want to read anyone else’s. I was also trying to force myself to read a book I wasn’t enjoying for research purposes, but when it came up for renewal at the library and I’d only read 10% after checking it out twice…I finally DNFed it. Returning it took a load off. I’ve switched to some lighter fare. I mean, I’ve been trying to finish the latest Karen Chance novel for over a month, and I usually blow through her work in 2-3 days.

ferrymensmallMy Books:

THE FERRYMEN came out on September 4. This is book 2 in the Evie Cappelli series.

Along with the book, I also released a new pattern, the Electrolite Socks, which were inspired by one of the characters in the book. The pattern also features a snippet from the third book in the series, Moreau House, so make sure you check that out.

I also launched a mailing list (sign up in the sidebar), and a Patreon, where you can keep up to date with all the latest releases, get behind the scenes access, and score free stuff. Sign up now, because there will be a huge giveaway coming soon!

  1. You do better at your goals than I do at mine. I’m still unpacking from a move. Glad I’m back up North. Hope you have a great October.
