Another month of failure. My back was out for two weeks, and then I got sick. I’m still shaking off my latest bout with bronchitis. My main goal at the moment is breathing long enough to make it to the mail box.

Part of my Nanowrimo prep involved reading a lot of reading about the 1920s. The more I delve into my research, the more parallels I see between that era and today. I’m still trying to gel those into a cohesive format, but look for a post about that at some point.
Anyway, here’s the list of books I read in October:
Miss Peregrine’s home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Girl Waits with Gun by Amy Stewart
1920: The Year that made the Decade Roar by Eric Burns
One Summer: America 1927 by Bill Bryson
The Other Side of Midnight by Simone St. James
I was a little lighter on reading this month than I have been, but the last two weeks have been unusually stressful. More on that some other time.
Earlier this month, I dipped my toes into self publishing and uploaded a short story onto Amazon.com. The Witching Hour is one of the first things I ever published, all the way back in 2012.
In addition, I also started posting a free serial read. You can find it here every Wednesday, or on my Tumblr.
It’s been a crazy few months–four releases in three months! It’s pretty incredible. Stick around, more to come!
